Update on Offices Reopening, June 2020

May 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.

Key Takeaways:

  • Walla Walla office will open on June 8
  • Modifications, health and safety measures, and rules and restrictions for those working in the Walla Walla office will be announced to Walla Walla staff members soon
  • Seattle office will remain closed until further notice

Walla Walla Office:

This week, Walla Walla County was approved to move to Phase 2 of Washington State’s phased approach to re-opening businesses during the coronavirus pandemic.  Phase 2 allows for resumption of work in office-based professional services organizations, which includes software companies. It’s not entirely clear if Walla Walla County has set an official date for sanctioning Phase 2 business openings, but we assume business will officially be allowed to open on Monday, June 1st, if not earlier this weekend.

We will be re-opening the Walla Walla office on Monday June 8.  We are making some modifications to the current seating arrangements to provide for 6 feet or more social distancing between people, and we will have a set of procedures and protocols for use of the office.  These will be shared with the Walla Walla office group next week.

Seattle Office:

There is no official word on when King County will move to Phase 2.  King County currently does not meet the state’s requirements for moving to Phase 2.  Specifically, to move into Phase 2 each county must have fewer than 10 cases per 100,000 residents over a two-week period.  As of today, King County’s rate for the last two weeks is 28 cases per 100,000 residents.

So, we are in a holding pattern on the Seattle office until we have further clarity from the State of Washington and King County.  The Seattle office remains temporarily closed for now.
